Instructions

Cast on 80 stitches with smaller size needles (or the number of stitches you need based on your gauge, as long as it's an even number). Place marker and join in the round (l used magic loop method) and start knitting backloop ribs 1x1 for 4 cm (1,5 inches), in this way: \*knit 1 st through the back loop, purl 1 st through the back loop\* repeat. Switch to bigger size needles, and knit every stitch, every round (Stockinette stitch) for 7,5 cm (3 inches). Increase section: \*knit 8 sts, increase 1st\* repeat. [+10 sts - tot. 90 sts] work even for 3 rows (Stockinette stitch) \*knit 9 sts, increase 1st\* repeat. [+10 sts - tot. 100 sts] work even for 3 rows (Stockinette stitch) \*knit 10 sts, increase 1st\* repeat. [+10 sts - tot. 110 sts] Continue knitting in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 19 cm (7,5 inches).

Decrease section:

\*knit 54 sts, knit two together, knit 52 sts, knit two together\* [ -2 sts - tot. 108 sts]. Divide the work placing marker for the decrease section. The decrease rows aim to reach a column of 6 decreases aligned, so in this case we'll need to separate the stitches placing a marker every 18 sts (18x6=108). We'll start with a decrease for every 18 stitches. If your number of stitches is different, then try to obtain a number of stitches multiple of 6 and keep a constant distance among decreases. In our case, the decreases are realized like this: \*knit 16 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 102 sts] \*knit 15 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 96 sts] \*knit 14 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 90 sts] \*knit 13 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 84 sts] \*knit 12 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 78 sts] \*knit 11 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 72 sts] \*knit 10 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 66 sts] \*knit 9 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 60 sts] \*knit 8 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 54 sts] \*knit 7 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 48 sts] \*knit 6 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 42 sts] \*knit 5 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 36 sts] \*knit 4 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 30 sts] \*knit 3 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 24 sts] \*knit 2 sts, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 18 sts] \*knit 1 st, knit two together\*, repeat [-6 sts - tot. 12 sts] Cut yarn leaving a long tail and draw through remaining stitches. Block gently.
