6 sts $=4"$ [10cm] in stranded pattern \*NOTE\* Be sure to swatch for the color work gauge! Stranded knitting can magnify differences in tension between one knitter to the next. If you want your hat to fit, be sure to make the appropriate gauge!!


Divide stitches evenly onto four needles, leaving 24 (26, 30, 32, 36) stitches on each needle. Setup row: \*Knit 12 (13, 15, 16, 19), place marker, knit 12 (13, 15, 16, 19); repeat from $^\ast3$ times more. Decreaserow: $\mathsf{*}\mathsf{S}\mathsf{S}\mathsf{K},$ knit to marker, slip marker, ssk, knit to end of the needle; repeat from $^\ast3$ times more. Work decrease row every row until 8 stitches remain. Thread a tapestry needle with the working yarn and draw it through the remaining stitches. Weave in ends.
