PATTERN STITCH
Multiple of 6 sts Round 1: \*ssk, k4, yo, repeat from 8 until the end of the round Round 2: knit to the end of the round

NOTES
You will get several hats with a skein of yarn. Instructions are given for the smallest size with other sizes in parenthesis. With circular needles, cast 84 (96, 108, 120, 132)sts, pm to mark beginning ofthe round, and join in a circle being careful not to twist sts. Knit 1 round, purl one round, knit one round, purl one round. Work in pattern stitch until the work measures 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) inches ending with a round 1. Changing to dpns when there are too few sts to continue on circular needles, decrease as follow: Round 1: \*ssk, k4, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 2: \*ssk, k3, yo, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 3: \*ssk, k3, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 4: \*ssk, k2, yo, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 5: \*ssk, k2, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 6: \*ssk, k1, yo, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 7: \*ssk, repeat from \* until the end of the round Round 8: \*ssk, repeat from \* until the end of the round Cut yarn leaving an 8" tail.
