I'VE NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS ENOUGH TO RESERVE THEIR APPEARANOE SOLELY TO THE DINNER TABLE, INSTEAD, THIS TRIED AND TESTED RECIPE LASTS FOR YEARS ANDSITSPRETTY ON YOUROHRISTMAS TREE. ALTERNATIVELY, TRY ONE OF YOUR OTHER COLOURS, OR A COMBINATION FOR A NON-FOOD-RELATEDBAUBLEUSINGTHEPUDPATTERN.
Ingredients
Pure Wool DK oddments in Red, Brown, Cream/ White and Green. Toy Stuffing. Ribbon/Thread for hanging.
Equipment
3 or 3.25mm knitting needles, darning needle.
Method
Pud Using brown and 3.25mm needles, Cast on 11sts. Row 1(ws): (K1, p1) into each stitch to end 22sts Row 2 and all foll RS rows: P Row 3: \*K1, m1, rep from \* to last st, (k1, p1) in next st 33sts Ending with a RS row, work 19 rows of stocking stitch. \*\*Next Row (RS): \*K1, k2tog, rep from \* to end 22sts Purl one row. Next Row: [K2tog] to end.\*\* Leaving a long tail of yarn, and a darning needle, draw your end of yarn tightly through remaining stitches on the needle once, and then again, and pull tight. With RS facing (reverse st st side) oversew or mattress stitch row ends together.
Sauce
Using3.25mmneedlesandwhite/cream,caston40sts. Starting with a K row work 8 rows in stocking stitch. Next Row (Rs): \*K1, k2tog, k1, rep from \* to end. 30sts NextRow:Purl

Next Row: \*K2tog, rep from \* to end 15sts Leaving a long end of yarn, draw through remaining sts tightly twice, and oversew row ends together with RS facing. Holly Leaves(Make 3) Using Green and 3.25mm needles, cast on 13sts. Starting with a K row, work 2 rows in stocking stitch. Row 3 (Rs): K1, \*yfwd, k2tog, rep from \* to end. Row 4: Purl. Row 5:Knit. Cast off. With Rs facing, oversew cast off and cast on edges Fold this seam in half, and stitch down the middle to form the‘centre vein' of leaf. Berries (Make 3) Using red and 3.25mm needles, cast on 2sts. Row 1 (Rs): Inc in each st to end 4sts Beginning with a purl row, work 5 rows in stocking stitch. Draw yarn tightly through remaining stitches. Arrange your sauce, berries and leaves atop your pudding in your desired decorative locations and affix to top of pud. Make a twisted cord to hang the pud, and stitch this to the top of your pud too.
