Snug Little Gauntlets

You can have warm hands and stilluse your fingers! I used the 'linen Stitch' for the body. which is more dense than usual knits, making it even warmer and to give it a snug fit.

Linen Stitch Linen stitch is way easier than it looks. It is only 2 alternating rows. Right side: KI [Yb, Ki] repeat [] all the way to the end. It should end with Yarn Back, so you would be 'wrapping' around the last stitch. Wrong side : P [Yf, Pl repeat I] al the way to the end. It should end with Yarn Forward, so you would be 'wrapping? around the last stitch.

Pattern
For both right and left hand, Cast on 38 stitches on the $4.0\mathsf{m m}$ [USG6] Needle with main color. 2x2 Rib [K2, P2] for total of 9 rows. Now for the loth row, which is on the wrong side. This is one of the two parts that have different patterns for the right and left gauntlets. The change is minute, but this allows the back of the hand to be just slightly wicder than the palm side. Right Hand : P4, M1, P14, M1, P20 Left Hand : P20, M1, P14, M1, P4 At the end of this row, you should have 40 stitches. From here, switch to the 5.0mm [Us8] Needle. Work in Linen Stitch, alternating colors to make the stripes. The ones in the photos are : 8 rows of main color, 6 rows of second color alternating. Here you can be original like 10 rows of main color, 2 rows of second color, etc etc. After making as many stipes as you want, end with a main color stripe. We now change back to the 4.0mm needles. Now on to the finger opening. This is the second of the two parts that have different patterns for the right and left gauntlets. Right Hand : [K2, p2] 5 times, K2tog, K1, [P2, K2]3 times, P2tog, Pl1, K2 Left Hand : K2, Pl, P2tog, [K2, P2]3z times, K1, K2tog. [P2, K2]5 times -Which brings us back to 38 stitches and to 2x2 Rib. 2x2 Rib for 6 more rows, and bind off. Using the tapestry needle, seam the sides together, leaving a 1.5in hole for the thumb. On mine, sewed 2in from the bottom and 1.5in from the top. If you have any questions, have found an error, or have suggestions, please feel fee to contact AzURE KNs at azure.m.webmaster@gmail.com.
