After making several super bulky scarves to give as Christmas presents, I figured I needed a super bulky hat to give out with all of them too.. I'm a glutton for punishment3?. 2 skeins by Lion Brand Hometown USA {l used 1 each of Cambridge Tweed and Tampa Spice? size 13 circular needles {9.0 mm? 16" length set of size 13 double pointed needles tapestry needle

Hat width is 16 inches around (unstretched) Hat height is 10.5 inches (not folded)
dire ction s brim of the hat?:
Cast on 44 stitches on a US13 circular needle. Place marker to signify the beginning of the round. {lmportant: As you join the round be careful not to twist.} Row 1 {set up the 2x2 rib}: \*k2, p2. Repeat from \* across the entire round. Continue \*k2, p2 rib for 10 more rounds {approx 4 inches from the cast on}. This creates the brim of the hat. Optional stripe: To add a stripe to the brim of the hat, knit as follows: In the main color, cast on and knit in the rib per the instructions above for 3 rounds. Switch to the contrast color and knit for 4 rounds. Then, change back to the main color and knit for an additional 3 rounds.
