Sport weight yarn - 2 colors - second color optional 3.5 mm hook (Size 10 UK or E USA) Yarn needle Scissors
Stitches:
Sc = single crochet Dc = double crochet Ss = slip stitch Gauge: 5 Rows of Double crochet and 9 stitches of Double crochet in 2 inches
Pattern - Small Ladies Size
Create a magic circle. Round 1: 12 dc into magic circle. Slip Stitch to complete the row Round 2: ch2 (counts as first dc), 1 dc into first stitch, 2 dc into each stitch thereafter . (24 stitches total) slip stitch to complete the row.

Round 3 ch2 (counts as first dc) , \* 2dc into next stitch, 1 dc into next stitch \* repeat for a total of 36 stitches Round 4 - 6: ch2 (Counts as first dc) 1 dc into each stitch for a total of 36 stitches. Round 7: Ch2, dc into next stitch, ch 1, skip 1, 2dc ch1 2dc into next stitch, ch1 skip 1, 1dc into each stitch thereafter. Complete row with slip stitch. Round 8 - 10: ch2 (Counts as first dc), 1dc into next stitch, \*lris Stitch - ch1, into chain space 2dc, ch1, 2dc, ch1 - skip 3 \* into next dc stitch of previous round 1dc. 1 dc for the rest of the stitches. Slip stitch to complete the round. Round 11: ch1, turn, sc into next stitch, dc 28, sc = 30 stitches Round 12: turn, sc into next stitch, dc 26, sc = total 28 stitches Round 13 - 23: ch2, dc 27, turn.
To make heel:
Mark off 7 stitches on each side of work Starting on stitch no 8, ch2, dc 13 turn = total of 14 stitches. Repeat 3 times for 3 rows of 14 stitches each Match sides of heel together and stich together to form heel
To add the side
Round 1: Joint yarn on side at row 13 with slip stitch. Ch 1 (counts as first sc), sc 9 (for a total of 10 single crochet two into each dc row), dc 10 to the start of the back of heel (two dc into each dc row), dc 14 across back of heel, dc 10 along other side, sc 10 - for a total of 54 stitches along edge. Turn Round 2: sc into 2nd stitch, dc next 50, sc into last stitch. Turn (total of 52) Round 3: In color 2, sc into each stitch (52 stitches) Turn Round 4: sc into 2 stitch, dc into next 48 stitches, sc into last stitch. Turn. (total of 50 stitches) To make the strap: Round 1: Ch2, skip 1, 2dc into next stitch, ch1, 3 dc into same stitch (a total of 6 dc into the same stitch). Turn Round 2 - 5 : ch2, into chain space of previous round: 2dc, ch1, 3dc. Turn Round 6: ch2, into chain space 7dc. Finish off work in previous shell stitch to form a circle for the button hole. Attach color 2 at third stitch of the color 2 row with a slip stitch. Chain about 14 - long enough to thread through strap. Thread chain through strap. Single crochet into last button hole to secure the chain. Use a button or mini flower as a button.
