Kitty Fetch Toy

Knitted on two needles using the magic loop method. Materials: some left over sock yarn. size O needles stuffing material, some roving or polyester fiber fill, eg. $\mathrm{MCO}^{*}\,6$ sts onto two needles. Round 1: K1, YO, K1, YO, $\mathrm{K}1^{*}$ repeat on second needle. Round 2: (and all even rounds): Knit al (knitting through the back loops of the YOs to close them up) Round 3: K1, YO, knit to last stitch, YO, K1 \* repeat on second needle Continue, increasing in this manner (as in for a sock toe), 4 stitches every other round, until there are 18 stitches total (9 per needle). Knit all rounds until piece measures 1.5 inches total. Stuff firmly. (I used some roving and a pinch of catnip.) K1, K2tog all around. Knit 2 rounds even. K1, KFB all around. Knit 3 rounds even. Add more stuffing if necessary. Transfer all stitches to one needle, alternating one stitch from the front needle and one from the back needle until all the stitches are on one needle.
