Pirate's Delight: Easy Knit Wrap Pattern with Gypsy Flair by Mara Loog - Sparkly Yarns & Embellishments

Yarrr()! Wrap by Mara Loog

Pattern illustration

This is a super easy fun pattern that adds a bit of a pirate or gipsy feeling to your costume! Materials: Leftover yarns in roughly the same weight. Sparkly ones look pretty! Embellishments (beads/pendants/charms/single earrings/semiprecious stones/coins) For example: yarn A: Lang Yarns ,MerinoSeta" yarn B: SWTC ,Yang" (with sequins) yarn C: Wollust mix (with lurex) Needle size 8mm Always knit the first and last stitch CO 50 st with A purl one row 1. k1, \*yo, k2tog\*,k1 2. k1,purl across, k1 3. k1, \*k2tog, yo\*, k1 4. = 2. Leaving a tail of 15cm cut A and attach B (with a tail as long!) with a doubleknot close to the stitch, so the fringe is on the edge. Repeat 1-4 with B. Alternate with A and B or add more colours. Knit until desired length and bind off loosely. Block to open the lace. For a skirt knit until you can tie the skirt around your hips with overlapping ends. Attach hooks on either upper side and simply hook it around your hips. Alternatively you can knit or crochet a few rows on the upper edge and make a closure with button and buttonhole. Tie in the fringe but keep in mind the weight is pulling down ;)

For a smaller scarf I would do the whole shebang lengthwise: CO way more stitches and do fringes on both sides, maybe even after every 2 rows.

Enjoy!:)

Addendum:

1. If you have a thicker yarn - in general or as a ,B" or ,C" yarn - you could do 2 yo for bigger holes. On the purl row just purl the first yo and drop the other one. The upper rows are with 2 yo, the lower with just one.

stole I would not tie in pendants due to the weight that might pull the stole off your shoulder
