Magic Ring:

Step 1: Wrap two loops over your fingers with the tail on the right and working yarn on the left. Insert hook from right to left into the 2 loops and pull the working yarn through. Ch 1. (The ch doesn't count as a stitch.) Step 2: Insert hook into the two loops again and work the stitches into the ring. Then pull the tail to close the hole.
