Stitches Used:W&T - Wrap & Turn W&T - WWrap & Turn: Slip next st to RH needle, wrap yarn around stitch and return to LH needle. Turn work and begin working back in the opposite direction from the previous row.

INSTRUCTIONS

Crown

With size II US / 8 cm & a single strand of bulky handspun, CO 21 (23, 25,27,29) sts Short Row Section Row I (RS): Knit to last 3 sts, wrap & turn (W&T.) Row 2 (WS): Knit to end of row. Row 3 (RS): K to 2 sts before last wrapped st, W&T. Work last 2 rows until a total of 7 (8, 9, 10, Il) have been wrapped. Next Row (RS) Knit all sts. Next Row (WS): Knit all sts. The first Short Row Section is now finished. At this point you should be at the narrower point of the hat. Option:You may want to draw a strand of yarn from the beginning and end of the ball of yarn, alternating these strands to give the color in each short row section more definition. Rep the above 7 (8, 9, 10, I1) -ridge Short Row Section six times, BO all sts. With a darning needle and a strand of bulky handspun, sew the cast on and bound off edges together.

Headband

With size II US / 8 cm circ needle and a single strand of yarn, pick up and knit 44 (48, 56,60,68) sts around the base of the hat (approx I st for each ridge at the headband edge) Ribbing Next Round: (K2, p2) rep to end of round. Cont in k2, p2 ribbing for 3 (3,4, 4, 5) " / (7.7,7.7, 10.3, 10.3) cm, or until the ribbed headband is desired width. BO all sts loosely.

Finishing

Weave in ends, closing pointed of top hat as you do. Wear proudly!
