The simple stitch pattern for this cowl forms soft flutes or pleats. The pattern is reversible so you can fold it over.
Materials:
I skein Malabrigo Silky or similar DK weight yarn. Use a soft yarn - some silk or bamboo content is especially nice. Using a firmer yarn will make a stiffer fabric. 40cm (16 inch) 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, or longer if you prefer magic loop. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends and grafting

Gauge: 24 stitches = 10 cm in stocking stitch. Gauge is not crucial for the project, but if your fabric seems too stiff, try a larger needle.
Abbreviations:
K: Knit P: Purl
Pattern:
Cast on 128 stitches using cable cast on (or your preferred cast-on). Join to work in the round, taking care not to twist. (You can easily make this cowl bigger by adding extra stitches in multiples of 8.
