This super quick, simple beanie is an easy knit and perfect for last minute gift giving. Use a super bulky yarn that is of high quality. The hat shown is a smaller size, but you can easily make the hat larger by adding addtion stitches when you cast on (in multiples of six). Skills required: long tail cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, joining/knitting in the round, magic loop method (or you can use DPNs) Abbreviations: st(s): stitch(es), k: knit, p: purl, pm: place marker, co: cast on Yarn: 1 skein Malabrigo Rasta (Archangel) Supplies: US 11 circular (24"), tapestry needle, stitch marker Gauge: 1.5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch. Be sure to check your gauge, as super bulky yarns definitely vary!

Instructions:
CO 36 sts using long tail cast on method. Place marker and join in the round. Begin 2 x 2 ribbing: k2, p2 Complete 2 x 2 ribbing for three rows. Row 4: K all sts (stockinette) Continue until piece measures 8", then begin decreases.
Decreases:
Row 1: k4, k2tog \* (\*repeat to end of round) Row 2: k all sts Row 3: k3, k2tog \* Row 4: k all sts Row 5: k2, k2tog \* Row 6: k1 k2tog \* Row 7: k2tog \*

Break yarn leaving long tail. Using tapestry needle, sew the tail through the remaining 6 sts twice and pull tight. Weave in ends. Enjoy!
