A framed, textured square without the popcorns. Skill Level: Intermediate Finished Size: 9" square (12" square) Materials: Worsted or Aran Weight yarn (I used Vanna's Choice), Crochet hook size H/ 5.0mm, Tapestry Needle Stitch Guide: Sl St = slip stitch, Sc = single crochet, Trc = treble / triple crochet, Rsc = reverse single crochet or crab stitch Notes: Each row will have 29 (39) stitches This does not include the turning chain. No stitches are worked in the turning chain. Row 1: ch 30 (40), sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, ch 1 turn Row 2: (wrong side)(sc in next stitch, trc in next stitch) across, sc in last stitch, ch 1 turn Row 3: (right side) sc in ea stitch across. ch 1, turn Row 4: (wrong side) sc in next stitch, (sc in next stitch, trc in next stitch) across, sc in last two stitches, ch 1 turn Row 5: (right side) sc in ea stitch across. ch 1, turn Repeat rows 2-5 until square measures not quite 9 inches - about 15 bumpy rows (not quite 12" - about 20 bumpy rows). End with a right side row, working 3 sc in last stitch for corner. Border Round 1: a) work 30 (40) sc evenly spaced along the side, work 3 sc in the corner, b) work 1 sc in each chain along the bottom (be sure to crochet over your beginning yarn tail), work 3 sc in the corner c) work 30 (40) sc along the side, 3 sc in the corner d) work 1 sc in each st along the top and sl st to 1st sc in corner Border Round 2: ch 1, work a reverse sc in the Front Loop Only of each stitch around. Join with sl st to first st. Finish off. Weave in end. (Join squares using the Back Loop of border round 1.)
