The Nothing Gold 1 Can Stay S Shawl

The Nothing Gold Can Stay Shawl was directly inspired by Robert Frost's poem of the same name. It's very simple, very quick, and very rewarding! The construction is basically a four-row pattern repeat of seed stitch and yarn-over increases. The finished product is pliable and warm, and it does grow considerably. It is 65 inches long and 22 inches wide, but you can make it any size you want—-just cast off when it suits you! Ingredients: about 200 yards of your favorite soft worsted yarn. I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Grey Heather (MC) and Caron Simply Soft in Gold (AC). Size 11 needles. I used 32" circulars to shed some of the weight of the shawl when it gets bigger. NOTE: This shawl has a loose gauge, at approximately 2 sts and 3 rows per inch when blocked. If you want this shawl to be loose, stretchy, and wonderfully plush, knit with the larger needles.
