Tendres Bourgeons: Delicate Feminine Lace Socks Knitting Pattern with Detailed Instructions and Charts

TENDRES BOURGEONS are delicate and feminine socks that will make your feet look nice and lovely. The many small details result in a refined and original look. They are knit in the round, top cuff down. The patterns emerge on the reverse stockinette stitch. The upper of the sock starts with a lace strip which is also located each band of lace pattern on the leg of the sock, then on top of the foot, and last on the toe.

SIZE :

One fits all : 6Osts in the round. My foot size is 41 (Us: 10,5 or UK: 8,5) , and I have 3,5cm between the end of fancy pattern and the toe before perforated the eyelet stripe. It's easy to reduce or eliminate this portion which is knit in reverse stockinette stitch .

MATERIALS :

·Yarn : fingering ,Wool butt Versailles (214 yards / 50 grams), I've used 60gr. Circular or DPNs US 1 . Markers. Yarn needle to wave in ends. GAUGE: 34 rows x 25 sts.

STITCHES USED:

Knit one : K1. Purl one : P1. Slip one st purlwise. Yarn Over : yo. Slip two stitches together, knit one, pass two slipped stitches over: s2kp. Purl 2 sts together : P2tog. Slip one, knit two together, pass slipped stitch over: sk2p. Loosely cast-ON: Long-Tail Cast-on or Cable Cast-on. S2kp tbl: Slip two stitches together through the back loop, knit one, pass two slipped stitches over. Knit 2sts together. Crossed stiches on the left : slip knitwise , 1st onto a cable needle, anc hold at front of work, knit the next st on left-hand needle, then knit the st which is on the cable needle. Crossed stiches on the right: slip knitwise, 1st onto a cable needle, and hold at back of work, knit the next st on left-hand needle, then knit the st which is on cable needle. K tbl : knit the stitch through back loop. K2tog tbl. Fancy lace stitch pattern: chart A, B and C. NOTE: Be sure to use the correct Chart C for the left and right socks. The patterns are meant to mirror each other, as seen in the photos. Charts A & B are the same for both socks. Charts are read from bottom to top, right to left, all rows are on right side of the work because we knit in the round. Distribution of charts :

1) Cast-On 60 sts using Long-Tail Cast-on or Cable Cast-on. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the row stitches. Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the row. 2) Work one time the 20 rows of the chart A, repeating the 12 sts of chart A 4 times in the round.

3) Work a second time the Chart A, only repeat 2 times around. Be careful and line up one above the other. Add k1 tbl at the end of the 3rd repeat of chart A. The 23 remaining sts are purled, except in row 17 and row 20 where these sts are knit. 4) Work a 3rd time the Chart A, only 1 time in the round. Be careful and line up one above the other. Add k1 tbl at the end of the chart A. The 47 remaining stiches are purl, except in row 17 and row 20 where these sts are knit. then the chart B. Be careful to line up the ktbl sts one above the othe

6)Heel : a) Top of the foot: Leave the following stitches on a dpn or stitch holder while you work the heel flap: 9 sts which are before the Chart B, the 13 sts of the Chart B, and the 9 following sts: you have 31 sts at all. b) Heel flap : is worked on the 29sts remaining. It's working flat, back and forth. The 3sts of the edges (beginning and ending) of the heel flat are worked in garter stitch. The other sts are worked in stockinette stitch. Begin on the right side: 1. \* k3, p23,k3 \* 2. \* k26 \* Repeat these 2 rows 11 times more. The last row is on the wrong side of the Work.

c) Turn heel:

It's working flat, back and forth, using short rows. 1. Slip 1st purlwise, k2, p13, p2tog, p1, turn. (RS) 2. Slip 1st purlwise, k4, ssk, k1, turn.( WS) 3. Slip 1st purlwise, p5, p2tog, p1, turn. 4. Slip 1st purlwise, k6, ssk, k1, turn. 5. Slip 1st purlwise, p7, p2tog, p1, turn. 6. Slip 1st purlwise, k8, ssk, k1, turn. 7. Slip 1st purlwise, p9, p2tog, p1, turn. 8. Slip 1st purlwise, k10, ssk, k1, turn. 9. Slip 1st purlwise, p11, p2tog, p1, turn. 10. Slip 1st purlwise, k12, ssk, k1, turn. 11. Slip 1st purlwise, p13, p2tog, p1, turn. 12. Slip 1st purlwise, k14, ssk, k1, turn. 13. Slip 1st purlwise, p13, p2tog, p1: 16 sts. (RS)

7) Foot:

Thread is on the left, facing heel, on the right side. Be careful and place tbl stitches of the chart B in alignment with the tbl sts of the chart C. Pick-up, purling them, 13 sts along edge of hell flap, then the 31sts remaining and work them in chart C, pick-up 13sts purling them on the second edge of heel flap, then the 16sts of heel. You have 73 sts, working in the round to do the foot.

Please note, left and right socks are symmetrical

Work the chart C, the gusset cable is spaced 8 sts after. The other sts are purled. Row 14 : remaining 58 sts after gusset decreases. Row 17: M1 x 2times: 60sts.

8) Toe : The knitted toe measures 3.5cm. Here is a table of measurements for length socks: http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/footsize.html Make the decreases as follow: Before marker : \*K2tog, k1 \* After marker : \* K1, ssk \* Place 2 markers: one after 10sts from the central st of the chart C, outwards, another one spaced 19 sts before this central st, inwards. Work on the 29sts from the top of the foot : a) \*yo, k2tog\*,the other 29sts of this row are purled. b) Purl all sts. c) Then, knit all sts. Work 4 decreases / row, every 2 rows, 6 times: 34m. 4 decreases/row, every row, 3 times: 22m. Then \* k2tog\* repeat all the row: 9m. Pass the thread through remaining sts and tighten. 9) Wave in ends. 10) Make a second sock symmetrically.
