QUICK & EASY STRIPED HANDWARMERS
by designerrant Materials: #4 US circular needles 4 colors of DK weight yarn (only 50-150 yards total) 2 extra needles/stitch holders I used Cascade Yarns Cherub DK, but any DK weight yarn will work. Key: C1 = white C3 = dark green C2 = light green C4 = yellow These are the colors I used, but feel free to substitute. Cast on 44 stitches in C1. RIBBED CUFF: Knit 2, purl 2 for 13 rows. PALM: Continue in stockinette stitch: Stripe 1: Two rows in C2. Stripe 2: Two rows in C3. Repeat stripes 1 and 2 twice more so that you have 6 stripes on the needle.
GUSSET PART 1: Righthand: Round 1 (C2): K5, knit row 1 of pattern, k6, m1L, k2, m1R, k21. Round 2 (C2): P31, purl row 2 of pattern, p5. Round 3 (C3): K5, knit row 3 of pattern, k6, m1L, k4, m1R, k21. Round 4 (C3): P33, purl row 4 of pattern, p5. Round 5 (C2): K5, knit row 5 of pattern, k6, m1L, k6, m1R, k21. Round 6 (C2): P35, purl row 6 of pattern, p5. Round 7 (C3): K5, knit row 7 of pattern, k6, m1L, k8, m1R, k21. Round 8 (C3): P37, purl row 8 of pattern, p5. Round 9 (C2): K5, knit row 9 of pattern, k6, m1L, k10, m1R, k21. Round 10 (C2): P39, purl row 10 of pattern, p5.

Round 4 (C2): Purl the first 21 stitches onto the extra needle, then purl the next 16 onto the main needles, then purl the last 21 stitches onto the second extra needle. THUMB: Working with only the 16 middle stitches, continue in stockinette stitch. Stripe 1: Two rows in C3. Stripe 2: Two rows in C2. Change to C1 and knit one row. Then do 3 rows of ribbing: k2, p2 to the end of the row. Cast off loosely in pattern. FINISHING THE PALM: Pick up the other 42 stitches and continue in stockinette stitch. Stripe 1: Two rows in C3. Stripe 2: Two rows in C2. Change to Ci and knit one row. Then do 7 rows of ribbing: k2, p2 to the end of the row. Cast off loosely in pattern. Sew up the sides of the palm and the thumb. Enjoy!
